If you have a swim spa from Master Spas, you don’t have to worry about opening a pool for the season or dealing with extra maintenance. Your swim spa is ready when you are, making it the perfect spot to relax, entertain, and enjoy the holiday.
Looking for ways to make your gathering even more special? These Memorial Day party tips will help you create a festive and stress-free celebration, complete with patriotic touches, great food, and plenty of fun.

Memorial Day party tips
A great party isn’t just about the food or decorations. It’s about creating an experience where everyone feels welcome and relaxed. From setting the scene with festive touches to keeping guests comfortable around the swim spa, these Memorial Day party tips will help you throw a celebration that’s both effortless and unforgettable
The perfect welcome sign
When you host a party, you want your guests to feel welcome. Greet friends and family with a sign that an arrangement of mini American flags and a sign that says “Party in the Back.” The younger ones can even grab a flag as they head back.
The sign is a nice touch but it’s practical, too. By having your guests head toward the swim spa, you don’t have to leave other guests or party prep to answer the door.
Festive flip flops
You want the water of your swim spa to be refreshing and clean for guests. Make it easier to keep out dirt and grass clippings by offering guests sandals to wear at the party. Red, white, and blue flip-flops are festive and affordable. You can have them on hand for all of your summer parties, including the Fourth of July. Guests can walk from swim spa to the snacks or check out your landscaping without tracking anything into the spa.
Towel off
Swim spa owners know that you can never have too many towels. While we love a pretty arrangement of red, white, and blue towels, a supply of white towels go with any party theme and are easier to clean. Roll them up nicely and tuck them into a red or blue plastic tub near the spa — but not too close! You don’t want them to get splashed.
Memorial Day menu
Keep things simple by offering a menu of American favorites, such as hot dogs, burgers, and grilled corn. Bowls of quick snacks such as blue corn tortilla chips, popcorn, and trail mix are also a nice touch. They make for an easy snack that kids of all ages will enjoy throughout the party.
And might we suggest the classic: iconic Bomb Pops. Stored in a cooler overflowing with ice, the frozen treat is perfectly on theme. Bonus: It’s the perfect way to cool off after soaking in the hot tub section of a dual-zone swim spa.
Don’t forget: Paper or plastic tableware is best when you’re around a swim spa. Patriotic plates in melamine are a great option and easy to find at home and department stores.
Flavor splash
Fresh berries frozen in ice add a beautiful and patriotic flair to your pitchers of water. You can even use a star-shaped mold! After all, it’s important for everyone to stay hydrated when hanging out by the swim spa — whether you are playing or just enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

Patriotic light show
Fireworks might light up the sky on Memorial Day. However, you can light up your backyard with LED light projectors and other outdoor lighting. Often used around Christmas, there are options that project a patriotic display of red, white, and blue stars from up to 15 feet away.
Duck brigade
It might be safe to say that Master Spas has a thing for rubber ducks. Master Spas dealers are encouraged to sell rubber ducks in their stores to benefit the Lupus Foundation of America. Color-coded ducks are used in our production facility during the inspection process. So we just fell in love with these Armed Forces rubber ducks, which are a nod to our love of ducks and honoring our military. The ducks would make a great favor for guests or use them in a game to keep children entertained.
Flower show
Add to your landscape by adding planters of vibrant red and white annuals, such as petunias. It’s something that will create a more inviting for guests on Memorial Day and all summer long.
