Owning a swim spa or hot tub should be a source of joy and relaxation, not a source of stress. In this Facebook Live video, Master Spas swim spa specialists Ben Gilliam and Mari Cuticelli share their top spa hacks for stress-free ownership and maintenance.

Prioritize water maintenance. It always takes longer to prevent a problem than to fix it, especially when it comes to water care. When you take time to test your spa water a few times a week, you can see if your levels are trending off and balance the chemicals.

Filters and filtration cycles. Spa filters help to remove dirt and debris from your water, playing a key role in overall water quality. But can you use vinegar to clean your filters? And how long should you run your filter cycles? In this video, Ben and Mari talk about how to clean filters and optimize your settings to keep your spa running its best.

Draining your swim spa or hot tub. Chemicals and filtration cycles can help keep your water clean and clear this season. However, Master Spas recommends draining your spa every six months. Ben and Mari discuss how to tell when it's time to drain your spa water and refill it. Plus, they share one of their best hacks for draining your spa.

Troubleshooting water. Sometimes, even with proper care, you might open up your spa to find that the water isn't looking its best. In this video, Ben and Mari answer questions about milky water, purple sediment in the bottom of a spa, and oily film in the spa. In addition, they talk about things to consider if you are adding a lot of chlorine to keep the water balanced.
