Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings Initially, when we purchased the spa, the salesman assured us that our selected colour was available in the style we wanted. Upon trying to prepare for delivery, several things went wrong, including the company calling us saying that the style of spa we chose is not available in the colours we wanted, so we opted to cancel our order, to which they started to backpedal, and said let me see what we can do. I called on a daily basis to see if they would be giving us the spa we purchased or if they would be giving us a refund. They were able to make it in our chosen colours. Don't back down when they say they can't do it how you order it. We haven't been able to use our hot tub, because our Salesman incorrectly advised us that we needed to have a 220 plug installed to accommodate wiring. He did not say that it would need to be hardwired. Hot Tub is beautiful, and came wit all the appropriate chemicals, but did not come with any filters as promised by the salesman. We cannot find an owners manual. Bottom line is that the salesman is selling something that can't be provided, but if you are paying over $6000.00 for a new spa custom made to your specifications, you'd better darned well stand up for what you order and get it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from MS LX900 - Poor quality/lackluster service BIGGEST PRODUCT PURCHASE MISTAKE I've ever made... I've owned Master Spas Master Spas LX900 hot tub since August 2014. I typically do extensive research before making a rather big purchase and I did not with this one so I'm hoping to help the next person to not repeat my same mistake. (As I type this, I am waiting for service on the unit for a failed heater and changing the water once again.) NOTHING but problems with this unit...heater, filtration, cheaply made valve diverters, stereo, thermostats, all of these components have failed. The diverters actually blew off the during a regular filtration cycle with the cover on it while we were out of town. That issue emptied the hot tub in seconds. And the reason I know this is that my neighbor saw it happen and sent me a video asking if something was wrong with the tub. This of course tripped a number of other failures in the hot tub which caused the computer boards to fry. None of the safe-guards worked and multiple components had to be replaced. That issue caused a 6 week failure until it was finally fixed. In addition to that, the water we've wasted over the past few years is in the $1,000's of dollars because of the issues with this tub. I am not new to hot tub technology as I owned a HotSprings Grande hot tub prior to this one for 12 years and nothing ever failed on it but the heater after about 8 years which is pretty typical. (The only reason we went for a new hot tub is because we were mesmerized by the lights and stereo upgrades on this newer unit and we purchased it at Hot Tub show in Anne Arundel County, MD driving around one day.) After reading all of these reviews on Yelp, I've had the same issues as most have described. These products are truly sub-standard quality for hot tubs. Their warranty means nothing when the product fails so often. There is (1) authorized service retailer for Maryland, DC, Virginia and Delaware so when your unit fails, and it will, you will wait weeks before the issue can be fixed. If you are looking for a hot tub, this is probably the worst thing you could consider. Multiple complaints to Master Spas will only get you a canned email response defending their warranty. So basically, we stroked a check for $14k and all we got was a warranty. Great job Master Spas...way to represent American-made quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tub, not so hot manual The look, build quality, design, and layout are great. Hightlights: I'm 6'7" tall. The entire reason I bought this particular tub is because after sitting in dozens of tubs, this lounger is the first one I fit in! Be warned, if under 6', you might find yourself drifting out of the lounger. The calf & thigh jets on the lounger are fantastic - would have been perfect if they were the moving massage jets. Most tubs have the LEDs below the water line. This tub has 4 in the waterfall, one large light halfway down illuminating from below, and several above the waterline. This feature means you can actually see who is sitting across from you. Individually adjustable jets - fantastic - every person is different, you can adjust every single jet to your liking. I thought the best thing about this tub would be the lounger, but that is nothing compared to the 4 jets in the footwell. Each seat gives a different angle on the foot jets; from side of thigh and ankle, to direct bottom of the feet and toes, to the tops of the feet (you'll love that if you wear steel toes all day). To me the foot jets are the number one feature of this tub. I have not seen them on any other tub I looked at. The next best feature is the corner chair with downward pointing neck & shoulder jets and massage jet. From 6" away, to sinking yourself below the water line to get the full effect. Its literally like having someone give you shiatsu on your neck and shoulder. Rotate in the seat so the jet is on the front of your shoulder and the massage is on the back of it. It just pulls the stress out of the muscles. Fantastic. Downside: The waterfall on low is quite pleasant. On high I find it just splashes me in my eyes and serves little purpose. There is no control for the waterfall that I have found. That's a drag. I really wish I could turn the waterfall down while the jets are on high. The manuals, both paper (included inside the tub) and digital, are poorly done. I do corporate communications and presentations for a living, I can't make heads or tails out of half of what they are saying. The worst part is, I have no idea how to turn the tub off. I also am not certain what is going on with the tub when I am not in it. Some times it runs for two minutes to poll for the temp and run the heater if needed. Some times it runs for a while to run the filters. When I get out of the tub, I want to know the jets are off, the waterfall is off, and which mode the system is in so I know what's going on so I can monitor my electrical expense. I HATE putting the lid down and the jets are still on low because I can't figure out how to shut them off. I HATE the fact that the waterfall runs when I put the lid down. It's pushing water against the underside of the lid. I don't see the benefit to that, and I assume it's going to water log my lid much quicker than if I could shut the water fall off during down time. I understand the CPU of the unit is designed to do what it needs to do to keep the tub at the desired temp and to run the filters from time to time to keep the water clear. But it sure seems to me they should be able to use plain English with the manuals so that I completely understand what it's doing, when it's likely to do it, how long it's likely to do it, why it's doing what it's doing, and if nothing else, I should at the very least be able to figure out how the heck to shut the jets and waterfall off before I get out of the tub. All in all, a fantastic investment, a great experience in the tub, until I get frustrated before I get out trying to figure out how to shut it down. I highly recommend the tub to anyone looking at getting one, and I STRONGLY recommend the company hire a proofreader and an editor to assist them rewriting the manual so that people can actually understand how to operate this substantial piece of equipment.

I need to replace my outer filter element and my Eco Pur mineral filter for a Clarity Balance 7 purchased in late 2015. What are the part numbers to request? Also, what filter cleaner do you recommend? Thanks.

Asked by: DH spauser
Hello! Those part numbers would be X268520 and X268513. As for filter cleaner, any brand would work. You could also use a 50/50 solution of water and white distilled vinegar to clean the filters.

Does the balance 7 clarity model have a circulation pump? Can I get more specific details for the clarity Balance 7 spa? thank you

Asked by: randy Muller
Hi Randy! The Clarity Spa Balance 7 does not come with a circulation pump. It is a two pump system that contains both a one speed and a two speed pump. It has the option of LED lights, a stereo, and WiFi. It comes standard with an Ozone generator that is paired with our Eco Pur mineral filters. It also has a water feature and a filter skimmer system that helps keep the water clear. If you have any more questions, you can call us at 1 (800) 860-7727. Thanks for asking!

Does the power only work if the Hot Tub is filled with water......finished wiring and have not filled up yet.

Asked by: jgun44
Hi! We recommend filling up the spa before turning on the power. If you turn on the power before there is enough water to fill the spa, there may not be enough water to flow through the heater, which can cause the heater to pop up with a LF (low flow) or 'heater may be dry' error code.

When opening the slice valves, do you turn "Counter-Clockwise"?

Asked by: jgun44
Hello! To open these valves, you turn them counter clockwise and then pull up on the handle. Hope this helps!

Is it important not to have more than 50% "soft water". Plan is to fill up from source inside my home.....this water is softened

Asked by: jgun44
Hello! It is important to have a good balance. Water that is too “soft” could be corrosive and water that is too “hard” could cause scale build up. The most important thing would be to test your water and add the appropriate things necessary to get that hardness between 150-250 PPM. Thanks for asking!

We just bought a Balance 7 spa and set it up. Is the filter cover supposed to lock down, or float?

Asked by: Debbie528
Hi Debbie! Yes. The telescoping filter housing is intended for the center sleeve to float at the water level. It will be drawn downward due to the amount of water flow if the pump is kicked on high speed (if your spa is equipped with a dedicated 24hr circ pump, this would not apply).

how do you turn the spa on for the first time and does it need water

Asked by: steve13
A licensed electrician would install a GFCI and wiring to provide power to the spa. The spa would be turned on and off by the breakers feeding the power to the spa. The spa should be filled at least to the minimum water level line which will be indicated near the filter are on the spa. The Balance 7 holds approximately 390 gallons when filled to this minimum level point.
