But how do you do that? In this video, Ben and Mari share their list of what not to do when you are installing, enjoying, and maintaining a Master Spas swim spa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many spa owners are eager to know how to take care of the water and adjust the jets. However, the list of what not to do might be just as important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the things that you should not do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Don&#8217;t fill the spa before the electrician hooks it up. Your swim spa should be turned off during the filling process. But you will need power once it&#8217;s on. If there is a problem with the connection, you might have to drain the water. It&#8217;s best to make sure the connection is right before filling it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t put a swim spa on gravel. A swim spa, when filled, is heavy. Gravel cannot support the weight of a swim spa when filled with water. The best base for a swim spa is a 6-inch reinforced concrete pad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not overthink the chemicals. Maintaining the water chemistry of your spa is important. However, it does not have to be work. Just remember to start with alkalinity, then pH. Adding sanitizer should be last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t swim too close to the jets of the swim spa. There&#8217;s a sweet spot when you are swimming in a spa. You don&#8217;t want to be able to brush the jets with your fingertips.
